The journey has started, and we will stay the course. As a leader in the independent wealth management industry in China, Noah has a group of customers with strong social values and abundant financial resources that support us in our quest to alleviate poverty as we grow, thereby injecting deeper meaning into the financial wealth management industry at a societal and human level.
Empower Poverty Alleviation and Community Building (UN SDGs Goal 1: No Poverty)
It is the common aspiration of Noah and our customers to support and help those who are still struggling to survive and improve their living standards. When those with a strong sense of morality and abundant financial resources come together to alleviate poverty, we can help even more people! Noah actively participates in poverty alleviation and community building, invests in poverty-stricken areas and provides employment opportunities for the poor. The goal of developing local specialty industries is to breathe new life into destitute and poor communities. We believe that by developing local specialty industries and transforming anti-poverty efforts from relief-oriented to fostering and development oriented approaches, we can achieve a mutually beneficial environment and economy for all. A cumulative sum of RMB926,000 was donated between 2019 and 2021. Funds were used for transportation, water supply and electricity, industry- and tourism-based poverty alleviation efforts.
1. The poverty reduction program in Guoluo, Qinghai, enabled children to truly perceive the harmony and care of the socialist nation and addressed the needs of pastoral area children at the roots of the problems.
2. The poverty reduction program in Shigatse, Tibet, supported repairing the water supply reserve system in Jiru Township. This overhaul improved water supply consistency during wet and dry seasons, with one storage handling daily usage and the other functioning as a reserve. This improvement also helped reduce electricity costs, improved local construction quality, enhanced water supply consistency, and markedly improved satisfaction among local citizens.
3. Poverty reduction project through tea cultivation in Danzhai, Guizhou, donated 30 mu of tea plantation. Under a “land claim” model, impoverished farmers could directly participate in the industry chain and earn money and respect. The program achieved targeted one-to-one poverty reduction that benefited needy rural households.

With every RMB 9,900 raised (including 9,000 in student aid and 900 in project operation fees), a financially challenged student can return to high school and continue their studies.
Case 3: Teach for China
Poverty alleviation starts with supporting education, and education is an effective measure to stop cross-generational development of poverty. As president Xi Jinping pointed out in his report at the 19th National Congress of the CPPC, “Prioritizing educational development and strengthening education are fundamental to our pursuit of national rejuvenation. We must give priority to education, further reform education, speed up its modernization, and develop a form of education that all people are satisfied with.” By supporting 18 teachers working in Dali of Yunnan Province under the Teach for China program, Shanghai Noah Charity Foundation assists in rural education development and contributes to national poverty alleviation.
